Resolve Collective
It is customery for the universities to showcase their students work at events like this however as the University was reluctant to assist us, myself and four classmates decided to curate our own independent exhibition, with sponsership from Better Bankside & Borough yards and with additional help from our University technicans.
Concept & Branding:
Resolve Collective’s concept is inspired by the night sky, specifically the Winter Hexagon. This is an Asterium which is defined as a collection of stars that are unknown while a Constellation is well-known.
Each point of the hexagon is made up of the brightest stars from six constellations:
Pollux/Castor of Gemini
Capella of Auriga
Aldebaran of Taurus
Rigel of Orion
Procyon of Canis Minor
Each representing a star with the final and biggest star
(Sirius of Canis Major) representing the industry.
Ultimately this Exhibition illustrated our resolve to take the next step into entering the Design Industry.
Logo:
Combining both our name and the concept we were able to create our Logo with the Winter Hexagon forming the shape of the R, with a triangle stablising it below. This is placed alongside the brand name complete with star shapes.
Digital Assets:
To keep with the concept, we created a variety of unique stars hand drawn. These were used throughout the project but were mainly used on the exhibit window as well as larger ones for the floors.
Promotional Materials:
To get the word out, we designed several posters, and invitition cards which we put up around the university and sent to special guests.
Our information was displayed on the LDF website:

Exhibition Design:
The next major part was to design the exhibit unit, it was a large space where we wanted to transport our audience to be amongst the stars.
Using vinyl stickers, several spotlights and LED lights, black curtains, and turning the lights off we transformed the space into the night sky.
The idea was for our audience to start at one side of the room (At Procyon) with the LED lights leading them to the next star until they end up at the stand where you can pick a postcard of your favourite project.
For the individual stands, there is the main board with our personal information and project details on the side boards, with our projects being displayed on the tables.
SenPlay:
For my own exhibit stand, I wanted it to look like a community board so I lasercut my characters to be surrounding my stand where they are then looking down at the several activity sheets children could pick out.
Below this, was the activity kit - Match up, Dress up where visiters could interact with each element alongside space where you could do the activity sheet and pick up a sticker.
The ultimate goal was to display my brand’s playfulness and attract children’s attention.
This was successful as it was very fun to see children pass by the windows and pull their parents inside to see my characters where I was able to talk to them and offer them an activity sheet and sticker.
